Butch was fifty-five when he enrolled in outpatient hospice services with terminal cancer. He recounted, “It sneaked up on me and bit me on the rear end. They told me there wasn’t any cure for me, so I’ll just live it out this way. It gets worse every day but I’m still out hustling. I’m helping someone build a horse barn down the road. But I’ll pay for it at the end of the day. I’ll be hurting pretty bad.” Butch’s wife Carmen stated, “I told him he needs to slow down”, Butch explained, “I know the day is coming when I’ll be stuck in this house. So I’m going to get out of here as much as possible for now.” Carmen shared, “But he gets depressed sometimes.” Butch looked up at me and admitted, “Yeah, I get pretty depressed dad.” I replied, “It would be an insult for me to try to say something to make you feel better. With bigger budget, Williamson Road group plans upgrades

Roanoke officials have endorsed a vision to add greenery and lights, neaten timeworn sidewalks and beautify buildings in the greater Williamson Road business corridor. The Williamson Road Area Business Association presented the plan in connection with a request for a bigger budget. In response, the Roanoke City Council recently agreed to tax 135 additional real estate parcels spanning 209 acres. That’s in addition to 370 parcels already paying the tax earmarked for the trade group, which was set up in 1993 to foster development, business and revitalization. No businesses opposed the plan, WRABA said. Council members voted unanimously to support it. Valerie Brown, the association s executive director, called the group’s efforts to advance economic development, city beautification, strategic planning and public safety significant. “But there is so much more than we want and need to do,” she told the council in February.

It has been a rough first quarter for Molson Coors

Molson Coors Beverage company has had a difficult start to 2021. More than 1.7 million barrels (52 million gallons) of beer could be impacted by winter storms in Texas and a cybersecurity incident. In February, the massive winter storm that paralyzed much of the state of Texas, stopped production at their Fort Worth brewery. The aftermath of the storm forced a halt of production for 11 days due to the damage incurred in the state’s power grid. This took off-line around 14% of the companies brewing capacity between its 6 large scale facilities. In March, Molson Coors was hit with a severe cyber-attack, halting production at their Albany, Georgia brewery. The Albany facility can produce as much as 10 million barrels of beer a year, about 1/6 of Molson Coors total capacity according to their website. Some delays and disruptions are still being experienced to its business.
